"A watched pot never boils."
As a teen, many of us spend our time looking for a relationship. If we aren't in a relationship, we search and search until we find "the one". However, a month later, we pick up the pieces of our broken heart and start searching again. Meghan and I both did that. We looked for relationships where we could find them, and we always ended up not doing what God wanted us to do. However, when we both stopped looking for a relationship and started looking for a relationship with God, BOOM!, He placed us in each other's lives. He knew all along what He was going to do, and it wasn't until we started looking for Him that He considered us ready for each other.
We felt God's calling on Arizona and the TO Nation, but circumstances changed and that door has closed at this time. So here we stand; watching the pot. Waiting.
As of now, we are in limbo. I (Joseph) will not finish school until November 2011, which means we can't leave Louisiana just yet. Meghan will still finish school in May, and has already begun seeking a job in Louisiana for the following school year. We are also looking for a place to live in Columbia (Joseph's hometown). Buying a small place is what we prefer, but renting may end up being our only option. That's just another thing we are trying to seek God's guidance in.
We won't try to deny that we have been discouraged by all the things that have come up. We are humans with emotions, and we also still have fleshly desires. However, we see and know that God has a perfect plan for us. We also know that He is going to use us as soon as we are ready. We just need to seek His face, and He will guide us to our destination.
As always we covet your prayers. Specifically:
1. We find God's will in a housing situation
2. Joseph finds a job that intermingles with school well
3. Meghan will find a job teaching
4. God will show us where He wants us to be used
5. Wedding planning will continue nicely (we spent a whole day printing and working on invitation stuff, and never argued once!)
Until next time, which will be sooner than it was last time, we promise, God bless and stop watching the pot!
